think of a threatening dog's snarl as as a test of truth. Not
so much as my own , but as to when to let that dog be right with
his threat. If I let him ,I will grant him truth and righteousness
as he wins with his bluff. But sometimes a dog is to scary and
threatening to laugh of. This dog gets my attention of respect
of his toothy advance. Then you have to acknowledge this dogs
power to hurt. The best course of defense in this scenario is
become that awful dog and in even more fierce manner. And hope

Yes, Christmas Season will be a time of ,indoor ,at home leisure time. I'll probably get howls from care givers for that loose statement. But after the little ones are in and you want to idly surf. You'll find Christmas time bandwidths are tight at best, on dial ups. Not to be nasty ,but that means slow to internet illiterates. Wells yous got to start some where. Anywise getting back to the constricted bandwidth problem. I have a solution of sorts. Its kinda crude, not always effective and I'm not sure welcomed by the phone company . But if your in a fool hardy mood. You or an able bodied loved one could buy a length of bell wire. Enough to go from your outside phone entrance box to the wall in back of your computer. Attach the outside end to the wiring array in the box and the inside end to a phone jack. You may get better bandwidth to a noticeable degree. You may even find you don't get cut of as much. Of course there is no real scientific way of knowing if your connection is better, for conditions on the net change faster that the weather. The theory behind bell wire working better is that a heavier wire allows more data flow (a bigger conduit). You may stay on better simply , because of this better data flow rate. Your priority at your IP's server is kept high. For some reason propriety to who stays on is set by how good is your connection is. There is jeopardy though ,to this procedure. You may unhook your phones by accident or case a short that will take an expensive technicians call to figure out. Come to think of it maybe Christmas is not a good time to risk causing technical chaos in you home

Saturday, April 07, 2001

Well, Spring has finally sprung in these parts. We all hope. It only a half hearted
thaw , but we'll take it. No flooding this years . Nope. There was so much snow and
so early the frost didn't get a chance to set in . The cover stayed on steady all this
long winter. Now that it's melting ,it's just evaporating in the sun and wind ,and
below the melt is just seeping into the ground. The thaw couldn't have been planned
any better. But its going at such a slow rate , every one is going crazy .

Tuesday, March 27, 2001

I waffeling wether to dig uot my basement. I know the subject is as intresting as peeling paint. But I think I have an intresting and ecomical angle. I have a inner corner on the back of my house that is sitting on a cinder block wall setting on a surface footing. My plan? Dig a trench to this dog leg wall face and go down to about 6 ft below this footing . knock out the cinder bock and tunnel into the cellar with the inititial trench sloped outside to wheel barrow out the soil. The trick is to dig up to the cinder bock wall and constuct the new wall below before I get caught in rainy weather and have a mud slide within. I think if I dig out the middle of the cellar keeping away from the walls first. Then tackle a side at a time doing 8ft sections in intervals. I thought if I dig below the 10 inch footing and pour a footing that will level 4 ft below this footing. then put a foam sheet againt the bare earth as the outer form. Then start making a stone wall facing inside and back filling with concrete as I go up. I put the drain on the inside for ease of construction and pray the wall is reasonably water proof. I don't plan to make it a living space so that should suffice. I think this methology will require planed timeing and heeding the weather man. It should not be inexpensive in the reasoning ,no unexpected horrors. The soil I take out will level the fied beside and will be planted with clover and compost. I figure this won't hurt nothin and I get a cool shop and inproved field beside in time
